NAV8 ENGINE™ defines how players navigate, interact, and survive within a dynamic, card-based environment. Unlike traditional trading card games, NAV8 ENGINE™ is built around directional movement, environmental control, and adaptive decision-making.

Core System Overview

NAV8 ENGINE™ is centered on an 8-directional movement system, allowing players to navigate the Field of Play using a full compass of directional choices.

Movement is not linear. Each decision directly impacts:

The system creates a constantly shifting play space where strategy emerges from movement itself, not just card play.

Key Components

1. 8-Directional Navigation (NAV8)

Players move using eight possible directions, creating a non-linear exploration system that differs from traditional turn-based progression.

2. Field of Play (FOP)

The active gameplay area where cards are placed, covered, replaced, or interacted with. The Field of Play evolves based on player decisions and card effects.

3. Card Interaction Hierarchy

Game elements operate within a structured system of interaction:

4. Sanity System

Players must manage a finite mental resource. Poor decisions, hostile encounters, and environmental pressure reduce stability and increase risk.

5. Path Blocking & Control

Cards can alter movement by opening, restricting, or redirecting available paths. Navigation is influenced by both strategy and unpredictability.

6. Card Count Score (CCS)

A system governing draw, placement, and interaction volume, ensuring balance between randomness and control.
